John Aubrey at Draycot House

John Aubrey was a 17th century gossip, anecdotalist and antiquarian. He recorded his thoughts and feelings about events and people in his ‘Minutes of Lives’ with their many topical and intriguing references. This portrayal is interspersed with interesting insights into John Aubrey's own life, together with that of his host, Lady Dorothy Long, during a visit he made to Draycot House in Wiltshire in 1690.
