Welcome to Chester House Productions. We, Vera Hughes and David Weller are well-known professional speakers across the South of England. We bring to life periods of social history through our fully-costumed quality presentations, mainly for clubs, history societies, literary groups, WIs, Probus, and U3As. We also appear at small festivals, fund-raising events and private functions. Timing can be flexible. We specialise in adapting literary works of greater and lesser fame. Our repertoire includes:

  • John Aubrey at Draycot House - where he is the house guest of Lady Dorothy Long
  • East Lynne - the 'Victorian story - based on the famous sensation novel by Mrs Henry Wood
  • The Canterbury Tales, freely adapted for the 21st century as 'The Canberra Tales'
  • Dickens at Christmas - a selection of seasonal writings
  • The AA Man - 'I know a man who can'
  • Lady Windermere, based on the famous characters created by Oscar Wilde
  • FLORENCE - The story of Florence Nightingale
  • Yuletide Tales - a miscellany of stories, poems and anecdotes with a festive theme
  • Join over 14,500 audience members
